Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Founders Heritage Park, this is your invitation to explore and express your connection to your ancestry, family, and whānau through the transformative power of painting.

A Canvas Across Time

On Sunday 14th and Sunday 28th April, from 1pm to 3.30pm, join us for an artistic journey that bridges generations. "Paint Your Heritage" is more than just a painting workshop; it's an opportunity to delve into the stories and symbols that define your family's journey through time. Bring to life the tales of your ancestors, the lands they called home, and the traditions that weave through your history.

Your Story, Your Brushstrokes

Led by the talented Mairi Lewis-Smith, AThR, this workshop welcomes participants of all skill levels to create their own visual narrative. Whether you're an experienced painter or picking up a brush for the first time, this workshop is a space for you to express what's meaningful to you and your whānau. All materials are supplied, so all you need to bring is your creativity and a sense of exploration.

A Symbolic Journey

What symbols represent your heritage? A Celtic knot, a Māori koru, or perhaps a family crest? Whatever it is, you'll have the opportunity to design and paint a symbolic image that resonates with your personal and familial history. It's a chance to reflect on your roots, celebrate your present, and pass on a piece of your story through art.

Connect and Create

"Paint Your Heritage" is more than an art class; it's a community gathering where individuals come together to share, learn, and create. The workshop's setting within Founders Heritage Park adds an extra layer of connection to our shared history, making it the perfect backdrop for inspiration.
