Ema Frost - Kintsugi Workshop
Kintsugi Workshop with Ema Frost
Discover the beautiful philosophy and ancient Japanese art form of Kintsugi (金継ぎ)—the craft of restoring broken pottery with gold lacquer, turning imperfections into unique features.
Led by celebrated artist Ema Frost, who has been teaching Kintsugi for over five years and regularly travels to Japan to study new techniques, this hands-on workshop welcomes participants of all skill levels. You are invited to bring a piece of your own ceramic pottery to restore, though backup pieces will be available if needed. Beyond ceramics, you will learn how this versatile technique can also be applied to glass, wood, greenstone, and shells.
What you will take away:
-
Your own finished artwork piece to take home.
-
A practical, hands-on understanding of Kintsugi techniques to continue creating in your own time.
-
An appreciation of the rich knowledge and history behind this beautiful art form.
