Ready, set, ride! The new pump track at Founders Heritage Park is officially open – and you’re invited to the grand opening celebration.
After rolling over from its old spot on Halifax Street, the pump track has settled into its brand-new home between the Windmill and Duncan House. It’s smoother, faster, and more fun than ever – and we’re throwing a party to celebrate.
Join us on Sunday 29 June, from 11am to 1pm, for a free, family-friendly event full of energy, colour, and community spirit. The action kicks off at 11am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Nick Smith – and from there, it’s all wheels go.
Whether you’re on a scooter or skateboard, the track is open to all ages and experience levels. It’s a perfect chance for young riders to test their skills, gain confidence and ride alongside friends in a safe and exciting setting. Just make sure you bring your helmet – safety gear is essential.
But it’s not just about the riding. There’ll be:
-
Free face painting
-
An ice cream cart for cool treats
-
A classic sausage sizzle supporting local charity
-
Plenty of space to relax, hang out, and enjoy the park
Entry to Founders Heritage Park is free for the event, and all the usual attractions will be open too – so feel free to make a day of it.
Come along, bring your wheels, and help us celebrate the launch of Nelson’s newest (and possibly most fun) community space. Rain or shine, it’s going to be a ride to remember.
